How we keep reviews reliable

A service with reviews of people needs rules. These are the ones built into RenterCheck.

Who can write a review

A review is written by a logged-in user about a person who also has an account. An author can have one valid review of the same person, and the number of review attempts per hour is limited.

Appeals

The person a review is about can file an appeal with a description and photos. Our team reviews it.

  • While the appeal is being reviewed, the author can't edit or retract the review.
  • An upheld appeal means the review is no longer shown.
  • A rejected appeal is marked on the review.

The review's author

The author can edit the text of a review or retract it, as long as no one has appealed it.

PESEL number

The PESEL number is used to link a review to the right person and for lookups. We check that it is valid and never put it in page addresses.

Your data

In your account settings, you can download a copy of your data as a JSON file and delete your account.

Legal basis

The Privacy Policy describes who the data controller is, on what legal basis we process data and how long we keep it.

The Terms of Service set out the rules for using the service, including writing reviews and filing appeals.
