How it works

From a PESEL number to a decision in four steps.

Example

PESEL •• •••• ••• 38

Cost: 1 token

2 reviews · March 2026, apartment rental

“Rent paid on time, apartment returned in good condition, no dispute over the deposit.”

Appeals: 0

  1. 01

    Enter a PESEL number

Look up the person you plan to sign a lease with — as a landlord or as a tenant.

  2. 02

Pay for the lookup or use a token

Pay for a single lookup by card. If you check more often, a token bundle lowers the price of each lookup.

  3. 03

    Read the reviews

See reviews written by people who previously rented with this person, together with any photos they attached.

  4. 04

    Every review can be challenged

The person a review is about can file an appeal. Our team reviews it, and a review found to be unreliable is no longer shown.

Trust

A review is not a verdict.

If you believe a review about you is untrue, file an appeal. While the appeal is being reviewed, the author can't edit or retract the review.

Pricing

You pay per lookup, not for a subscription.

Pay for a single lookup by card, or buy a token bundle to lower the price of each lookup. A lookup that finds nothing doesn't use a token.

FAQ

Questions we hear most often

How much does a lookup cost?

One lookup uses one token. Current prices for a single lookup and for token bundles are on the pricing page. The larger the bundle, the lower the price of each lookup.

What if a lookup finds nothing?

If you pay with a token, the token isn't used. If the lookup was paid by card, a token is added to your account to use later.

What can I do if a review about me is untrue?

File an appeal on that review: describe what is wrong and attach photos if you have any. Our team reviews the appeal. If it is upheld, the review is no longer shown.

Who can see reviews about me?

A logged-in user who looks up your PESEL number. You can see reviews about yourself in your dashboard at no cost.

Can I review someone who doesn't have an account?

No. You can only review a person who has a RenterCheck account. When you write a review, you enter their PESEL number.
