How it works
How RenterCheck works
The service combines two things: looking up reviews by PESEL number, and a process through which every review can be challenged.
1. Account
You need an account to use the service. When you register, you give your first name, last name, username, email address and your PESEL number. Your PESEL number is how reviews written about you are linked to your account. Creating an account is free.
2. Lookup
Enter the PESEL number of the person you plan to rent with. You can't look yourself up — you can see reviews about yourself in your dashboard at no cost.
3. Payment
Each lookup costs one token. If you have no tokens, you can pay by card for that single lookup, or buy a bundle and finish the lookup straight away.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe.
- A lookup that finds nothing doesn't use a token.
- Promo codes are redeemed for tokens on the token purchase page.
4. Result
You see the reviews of this person, together with the photos their authors attached.
5. Your own review
Once a tenancy ends, you can review the other party: a description and up to 10 photos. You can have one valid review of the same person at a time. As long as no one has appealed it, you can edit or retract it.
6. Appeal
The person a review is about can file an appeal with a description and photos. Our team reviews it. If the appeal is upheld, the review is no longer shown. If not, the review stays, and the person who appealed can see that the appeal was rejected.
